On Tuesday the 18th June our Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students participated in our Junior School Athletics day. We started our morning with the Prep boys and girls sprints followed by our Year 1 and Year 2 students. Students cheered loudly for their houses and showed their Dakabin State School spirit!
Then, we invited our younger siblings and families to participate in a fun run and it was amazing to see all our families’ race! Next, we had a dance party where Kookaburras, Eagles, Magpies and Lorikeets danced to gain extra points for their team! Our morning was finished with a picnic lunch on the oval with our friends and families.
In the middle of the day, classes participated in a range of field events with their teacher. We did high jump, hurdles, egg and spoon races, sack races, vortex throwing and long jump.
It was fantastic to see students proudly representing their house and giving all events their best effort. Thank you to all our students, staff and families who made our Junior Athletics Carnival a success!!!
