Enrolments

​​​​​​​​​​Thank you for considering Dakabin State School for your child’s education. Please take time to read the following important information before completing the enrolment application package.

Dakabin State School has a School Enrolment Management Plan. Please make sure that you live in our catchment prior to making your appointment with the school. You can check which catchment you live in by typing your address into the following website. http://www.qgso.qld.gov.au/maps/edmap/ 

Enrolment process

1. Prospective family contacts school to make an application to enrol (appointments are recommended)
2. Discussion occurs with Principal or delegate at interview regarding the Dakabin State School enrolment package and agreement. Further discussions held with HOSES if student has a disability. A range of programs and services are provided at Dakabin.
3. A birth certificate or passport must be sighted at interview
4. Principal arranges for student to sign enrolment agreement
5. Student will be assigned to a class. Student records will be requested from previous school once enrolment commences.

Additional information to be provided during initial interview

• Age requirements for eligibility for entry into prep program (see below)
• If a student has a disability the programs which can be offered.
• If the student is currently on suspension or suspension pending exclusion what programs can be put in place.
• If the student requires transport assistance, refer to the school transport assistance scheme.
