School routine
8:25am: first bell. All students in year 1 and 2 meet in the Junior Undercover Area. Year 3 to Year 6 meet in the Senior Undercover Area. There is no waiting outside classrooms for students. Prep students meet at the front of the school where they are picked up by staff members.
8:30am -10:30am: enter class. First learning session. Teachers will take their class from the senior covered games area to the classroom for the commencement of lessons.
10:30am -11:00am: play time. Students have 30 minutes of play time in their usual areas.
11:00am - 11:15: enter class for eating time followed by second learning session. Teachers collect students from usual areas as per current routine to return to the classroom for 15 minutes eating time followed by the commencement of second learning session.
1.15pm - 1:35pm: play time. Students have 20 minutes of play time in their usual areas.
1:35pm - 2:30pm: enter class for eating time followed by third learning session. Teacher collects students from usual areas as per current routine to return to the classroom for 10 minutes eating time followed by the commencement of third learning session.
2:30pm: school finishes. Students waiting for the bus and collection from older siblings to wait in the seated shelter area at the front of the school as per the current arrangements.
Time of arrival
Students should not arrive at school before 8:15am, as there is no formal supervision. We understand there are parents whose work commitments are such that their children will be at school earlier. So that these children are safe they are required to sit outside the tuckshop.
At 8.15am all students at school are required to sit in their respective undercovered area where they will be supervised by a member of the staff. Students will be collected by their classroom teacher with the exception of prep students who wait with their parents/caregivers outside the Admin building.
Leaving school grounds during the school day
Once children arrive at school, they are not permitted to leave the grounds for any reason unless a note is received by the teacher or the school administration giving permission for them to do so.
If a child has to be collected during school hours, this must be recorded at the school office and parents are required to sign a register of absences before the child leaves the school grounds. After signing for early departure, parents are required to collect a slip and proceed to the classroom to collect children.
