On Thursday 60 year 4,5 and 6 students attended Dakabin SHS for some Science Week activities.
One group looked at what materials you could use to insulate a vehicle. This involved using EV3 robots and different materials. Students had to take temperatures of the robots before and after it had passed under some strong lights.
Another group had to design a vehicle to use in farming that could disperse seeds in a more efficient manner. This was using the Sphero robots.
The other group looked at velocity of vehicle crashes and how they could protect the vehicle and passenger using different materials. This was using programs on laptops that were connected to some robotic cars. After a short break all groups then worked on designing rockets that were tested out on the outside courts. These rockets had the potential to go 30 metres in the air. This was the highlight for many students although they all enjoyed all of what they did.
Thanks to Dakabin SHS staff and students that made this possible.
