On Thursday 12th September, DSS Staff were encouraged to wear something yellow to show our support and create a bright and positive atmosphere for R U OK? Day.

Thursday 12th September marks #RUOKDay2024. While this day is a special reminder, every day is an opportunity to check in with those we care about and ask, "Are you OK?"

Starting a conversation about mental health can be challenging, so here are four simple steps to guide you:

  1. Ask R U OK?
  2. Listen
  3. Encourage action
  4. Check in

These steps can make a significant difference in someone’s day. For more conversation tips and to download resources please visit www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask.

Let’s try to support each other, not just on R U OK? Day, but every day.

Thank you to all of the DSS staff for wearing yellow. This has helped us stand out and symbolize our commitment to mental health and well-being.
