During semester one as part of their science curriculum, Prep students learned that the survival of all living things is reliant on basic needs being met. They also learned about the impact of daily and seasonal changes on plants and animals. Throughout their weather study unit students reflected on how weather affects living things.
Prep’s culmination of learning was enriched this week with a Reptile Adventures Wildlife Incursion. The students were mesmerised by the interesting facts, and information about what each animal species needs to survive and how we affect their survival. It was so much fun to touch and see so many animals and reptiles up close!
The students were caring and gently handled the animals, many students being more confident than some teachers to handle the creatures!
There may be some upcoming ‘Wildlife Warriors’ amidst our Preppies. Don’t be surprised if their next pet request is for a turtle, tree frog, lizard, snake or even a crocodile!
