On Wednesday the 29th of March, Year 3 were very excited to receive a visit from the Wildlife HQ Zoo.
Katie was the animal handler, and gave an amazing insight into the lives of two snakes, a frilled neck lizard, a blue tongue lizard and an alligator.
The children sat in a semi-circle around Katie as she offered every child the chance to carefully pat each animal and ask questions.
It was a wonderful chance to get up close and personal with these amazing animals. The visit was the culmination of a science unit investigating living and non-living things in our world.
The children were wonderful, remembering to be gentle and use quiet voices. 3B were thrilled when their teacher Miss McCasker fearlessly held a magnificent yellow python so all the children could pat it. Mrs Stewart was quite content to hold the blue tongue lizard named Patches.
Interestingly, a lot of the animals located at the zoo at the Big Pineapple, once lived down the road from our school at Alma Park Zoo. Thank you, parents, for supporting this educational and amazing incursion.
